1 · In plain words
Adzmonster (“we”, “us”) is a classified advertising service. A seller pays to publish an ad; anyone who is interested contacts them on the details that seller chose to put on it. That shapes this whole policy, so it is worth being blunt about the trade: what you tick for publication is public, indexed and copyable by anyone, and we cannot recall it from whoever has already read it. Everything you do not tick stays private — held for you and for the advisors who review your account, never sold, to anyone, for anything. The readable version of these commitments is on our Trust & safety page; this document is the precise one. It covers adzmonster.in.
2 · What we collect
We collect only what the Service needs:
- Account data — email address (verified at signup), name, and your sign-in credentials, held by our identity provider. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google; nothing is posted back.
- Ad content you author — titles, descriptions, photos, prices and the structured facts of your ads. Ads are public by design (section 4).
- Vault data — the private layer described in section 3.
- Verification notes — our advisors' notes from reviewing your ads and account, kept internal and never shown publicly.
- Activity data — favourites, saved searches and credit transactions. We do not carry messages between members, so there is no conversation for us to hold: whatever a buyer and seller say to each other happens on their own phones and never reaches us.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, used for security and rate-limiting.
We do not collect SMS numbers for verification (we never use SMS), we do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.
3 · The vault
Your vault holds anything that could identify or reach you directly: phone numbers, email, WhatsApp, exact address, and your privacy settings. It is stored separately from your ads by architecture and excluded from search, and nothing in it is published until you tick that channel yourself (section 5). What you have not ticked is accessible only to you and to the advisor or admin staff who serve your account, and our sanitiser scrubs contact patterns out of ad text so nothing can leak in by the side door — including a channel you deliberately left un-ticked.
4 · What is public
Your ads are public — that is their job. An ad carries the item's photos, price, facts, a city and area, a display name, and whichever contact channels you ticked (section 5). It never carries your exact address. Free text you write is screened so that contact details cannot slip in by accident rather than by choice. Ads may be indexed by search engines and shared as previews and QR posters, and anything printed on the ad travels with it.
5 · What goes on your ads
You decide, per channel, in Settings → Privacy. Tick a phone number, a WhatsApp, an email, a best-time-to-call note — any of them, or none. Only what you have ticked is copied onto your ads, and the copy is refreshed from your settings each time an ad is saved, so un-ticking a channel removes it from your ads. Nothing is published by default and nothing is inferred: an account that never opens this page publishes no way to be reached at all, which we warn you about while you are writing the ad.
Understand what publishing means here. A contact detail on an ad is visible to everyone, not only to serious buyers, and it can be copied, cached by search engines, or scraped before you change your mind. We cannot take it back from anyone who has already seen it. Publish the channel you are willing to have strangers use, and change your mind whenever you like — it will come off your ads, but not out of their notes.
6 · How we use data
In legal terms, we process data to:
- provide the Service you asked for — ads, search, publication of the channels you ticked, Price Pulse (performance of contract / consent);
- review ads through advisor checks, and keep the board free of fraud and abuse (legitimate interest in an honest noticeboard);
- process payments and maintain credit ledgers (contract, legal obligation);
- send service email — verification, the notifications you enabled about your own ads, replies to your messages (contract). Marketing email only with consent, always with unsubscribe;
- meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not profile you for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions with legal effect about you — advisor approval is a human decision. Price Pulse is computed only from public ad data, never from anything in your vault.
8 · Payments
Card and payment details go directly to our payment partner Razorpay and never touch our servers. We keep the transaction record: what was bought, when, the amount, and the credit ledger entries it created. Payments between members for the items themselves happen outside the Service and are not processed or held by us.
10 · Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your ads, vault, photos, favorites and saved searches; conversations disappear from your side and are anonymized for the other member. We retain payment and ledger records for the period tax and accounting law requires, and minimal logs needed to investigate abuse, after which they are deleted in turn. Export-then-delete is always available (section 11).
11 · Your rights
Wherever you live, we honor: access (a copy of your data — self-serve export from settings), correction (edit your ads and vault anytime), erasure (self-serve deletion), withdrawal of consent (untick a channel, take down ads), and portability (the export is machine-readable).
These correspond to your rights as a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including your right to grievance redressal (section 15) and to nominate someone to exercise your rights. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, they correspond to your GDPR rights, and you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
12 · Security
Data is encrypted in transit; access to production systems and to vault data is restricted to the small team that operates the Service, on a need-to-serve-you basis; payment credentials are handled solely by our payment partners. No internet service can promise perfection — if a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the required authorities promptly and plainly.
13 · Children
Adzmonster is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data about minors; an account found to belong to a minor is removed and its data deleted.
14 · International transfers
The Service runs on infrastructure in Europe; your data may be processed outside your home country. Wherever it is processed, this policy and the safeguards above travel with it, and transfers from jurisdictions that require them use recognized mechanisms (such as standard contractual clauses).
15 · Grievances & contact
Privacy questions and requests: [email protected] — mark the subject “Privacy”. For the DPDP Act, this address also reaches our grievance officer; we acknowledge within 72 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days.If we ever fall short, say so — this policy only means anything if we answer for it.
16 · Changes
When this policy changes materially, we will tell you on the site or by email before the change takes effect. We will never quietly publish a channel you did not tick, weaken the separation between your vault and your ads, or drop the no-selling commitment — a change to any of those would be announced plainly, would apply only going forward, and would leave your existing choices as you set them.
